Callisto lifts Ellery’s chin.
With a mischievous smile, he says, “Strong men look like whatever they want.” And Ellery startles.
A pale sunrise crests over a wide prairie in the distance. “The world you left is not worth returning to.” Callisto continues.
“You were the only thing worthy of stealing.” He whispers as he holds an intense stare with the young man he groomed, tortured and murdered.
