Callisto looks down at Ellery. “My home…Dio.” He says. Ellery shudders and hugs himself. He starts to panic as he reconciles emotionally with the reality of his situation. “…This can’t be real. You aren’t real… I’m going to wake up… And this will all just be a-“ “…Nightmare?” Callisto interjects. Ellery gasps, tears filling his eyes realizing he was more comfortable with insanity than the reality of his current situation. He could understand his difference in his world.

 

 

Ellery has a heart wrenching reconciliation with the reality of his situation. He could understand that he was different from his classmates. He could even accept his relationship to Callisto as a critically debilitating mental health condition… But accepting that the nightmare is real feels like a threat to his life.
