Ellery donned his boy clothes as though they were his boy skin. Even covered, every inch of flesh shrieked like a flayed wound. Humiliation, and terror, and a sickening sense of guilt, thrummed in the silent air. A brief rapping against wood, a signal of human presence at the entrance of the dorm, made Ellery stiffen and turn, yanking down his sweatshirt with embarrassing quickness.
