Ellery trembles from being slapped as he stares in terror at Callisto, who just hit him across the face. Callisto says, “Hm, That was a light slap, you know. You’ll learn to take more than that, my catamite.” Ghouls approach the great hall with a wooden chest. “Here are the vestments you requested, Lord Callisto.” “Dead people!” Ellery cries in alarm. “Leave it there and await your next orders outside.” Says Callisto as he strokes Ellery’s forehead. Ellery looks up at Callisto and repeats the name, “Callisto…?”

 

After all this… Ellery finally learns the lich’s name… Up til now, Ellery was calling him Nightmare Man. It’s going to be a difficult pill to swallow that this wasn’t all just a bad dream, a curse, or a symptom of psychosis, like Ellery previously feared.
